The Killers (1964) is a television-style flashback color Hemingway remake sports motor racing and murder femme fatal and gangster heist fallout and violence against a blind woman Don Siegel almost un- or non-credible cool brutal crime action film noir that is barely a film noir insofar as the noir is far from the habitual armoire of typical style motifs, but is called a film noir nonetheless, with oddly no night time scenes at all, not that excludes it from the film noir category, it is in the style that this nonnoirness nor nihilist nemesis, nor nausea-inducing net of failed morality, but it's crass instead, normal narrative, neatly non-noir, and with the star Lee Marvin and the stars Angie Dickinson, John Cassavettes, and President Ronlad Reagan.

Wilcox from a script by Cyril Hume that was based on a film story by Allen Adler and Irving Block, and starring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, and Leslie Nielsen, and shot in Eastmancolor and CinemaScope.

Newman and starring Anne Baxter and Dale Robertson with a screenplay based on a short story of the same name by Bret Harte, a story indeed which and that in fact has indeed been brought to film at least five times, including in 1919 with Harry Carey and in 1937 with Preston Foster, oh yeah, snow noir, western noir.

From Here to Eternity (1953) is a wartime romance and martial bullying melodrama ensemble cast boxing or perhaps anti-boxing Oscar winning lousy husband controversial extra-marital foamy beach body embracing classic tale of some soldiers and their lovers stationed in Hawaii in the months leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor directed by Fred Zinnemann and starring Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, and Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr and Donna Reed, Ernest Borgnine, Philip Ober, Jack Warden, Mickey Shaughnessy, Claude Akins, and George Reeves, and nope it's no noir, nor noir styled film nor film noir, with little of the noir style, but it's here because we can't talk about 1953 without giving it a shout, and it has many of our beloved noir heroes in it, within the cast ye ken, plus we got to have a film classics sidebar and this is where that belongs, film classics sidebar.
